Issues with Discourse Themes

For those that love experimenting with different themes as much as I do (sometimes the bright white backgrounds can be a little harsh on the eyes), I noticed that themes other than the default theme will hide important buttons on this site. Here are some screenshots from Solarized Light. As you can see in the lower left, the “+ Create Topic” button is lost in the background and will only uncover if you hover over it.

Hopefully this saves others from making the same mistake I did!

You can get to themes by Preferences > Interface

Hi, Matt! There is a lot of customization available on Discourse — I’m glad to see you experimenting!

Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions + I look forward to seeing future tips.

Thank you @lmackenzie! Is there a way to fix the non-default themes so that the buttons are not hidden when using different themes?

The buttons I noticed that are hidden are the “reply” button when replying to posts (same as “create topic +”) and the top right tool bar (i.e., the house, magnifying glass, hamburger menu, etc.).

Hi @mattk,
I reached out to Discourse and they confirmed the issue has to do with our (MJFFs) customization of Discourse.

They said that they addressed the issue. Can you confirm the buttons are visible when you change themes?

Thank you @lmackenzie for looking into this. The fix worked and I am able to see the buttons across the various themes. Much appreciated!
