Kenlizzette

I am a biochemist and research scientist from Colombia with a strong interest in the molecular mechanisms linking aging, genetic disorders, and neurodegeneration. My research combines molecular biology, biochemistry, and functional genomics to explore how cellular stress and genetic variation contribute to disease.

I have worked on RNA polymerase III–related progeroid syndromes, cellular senescence, and more recently on cannabinoid signaling in glioblastoma and Parkinson’s disease. Through international collaborations such as the Global Parkinson’s Genetics Program (GP2) and the Latin American Research Consortium on the Genetics of Parkinson’s Disease (LARGE-PD), I have expanded my expertise in molecular neurobiology and bioinformatics.

I am passionate about connecting mechanistic insights with translational applications, mentoring young researchers, and contributing to multidisciplinary projects that advance our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases.
