As many of you know, April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month, with World Parkinson’s Disease Day occurring every 11 April. It’s a great opportunity to share resources about PD, help people recognize early signs of the disease, and bring attention to the amazing research and projects you are working on.
Do you have specific plans or activities for Parkinson’s Awareness Month or World Parkinson’s Disease Day? We’d love to hear more about what you’re doing to see if there are ways for the community to help with and/or amplify these efforts!

MJFF also has an annual unity walk in Central Park if anyone is in NYC and is interested! Always a nice way to see other community members and get away from the screen-heavy research.

Hello! Yes! And I always arrange something to do in this month, as I think this is important! I like doing talks and interacting with patients and this month I’m going to give a short lecture om the causes of PD in an event my hospital is hosting to raise awareness and literacy in PD. I think it is our job as scientists and clinicians to do this kind of work!

We had an exciting month this past April
We had a Sit to Stand Challenge which was heavily patronised all over Ghana. We had Members of Parliament joining the Challenge and as a Foundation we made significant strides in pushing the coverage of Parkinson’s medications into our national health insurance scheme which will make financial burden on patients lessen.
We had a Conference where we briefed the media and general public on the Landscape of Parkinson’s Disease and the way forward
We also began the very first table tennis club for Parkinson’s disease patients in Ghana this April
We are finishing up the setup of A Parkinson’s Merchandise shop online to revamp fundraising activities
