On 11th April 2026 in Ghana, we pedaled with purpose—riding for awareness, riding for hope. Miles of awareness. Moments of hope.
This World Parkinson’s Day 2026, Anidaso Parkinsons’ Disease Foundation which I am President of took to the streets—not just for a ride, but to spark conversations and remind communities that Parkinson’s disease is real… and so is hope.
With every kilometer, we educated, we listened, and we connected with people in ways that truly matter. What started as a ride became a powerful movement of awareness and advocacy.
We had the full endorsement of Ghana Cycling Federation and other major stakeholders. Over 350 participants cycled and we had general health and dental screening for over 200 participants.

How did you celebrate World Parkinsons Day this year?
Thank you for sharing, @Vidash, the event and photos look wonderful! What a great way to raise awareness of all the important work yours and other foundations are doing to improve the state of research and care for the Parkinson’s disease (PD) community
Last weekend, I was one of hundreds of volunteers in New York City supporting the 2026 Parkinson’s Unity Walk, an annual 1.2-mile walk through Central Park, raising money for PD research. Despite the rain, it was a great time with so many fundraising teams organized by individuals and families affected by the disease.
The Parkinson’s Unity Walk not only raises funds for research and public policy initiatives but also increases awareness and community engagement. For anyone interested in joining next year, the event is held each April for Parkinson’s Awareness Month in Central Park. Whether you’re fundraising or interested in connecting with industry representatives, community partners, and Parkinson’s experts, it’s an inspiring opportunity to get engaged.
