Advice for Early Career Researchers

We know there is a lot of collective wisdom in the DCoP – you’ve all had different career paths and different experiences. We’re curious what you’ve learned from your varied journeys.

What is one piece of advice you received in your career from a mentor, boss, coworker or someone else that you wish you had been told earlier? (As someone who’s applying to neuro grad school soon, I have a vested interest in this topic!)

Find people that you enjoy working with! This is harder in earlier stages of training (as you don’t have much of a choice always) but as you advance I have followed this closely. It seems intuitive but you’d be surprised! It makes for better science and productivity.
