Hi everyone! I’m Greg from MJFF, and I just recently started (5/28) as the new Community Manager. I’m excited to be part of the team and look forward to working with you all toward our mission of making it easier to access, use, and understand existing Parkinson’s disease datasets. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions!
Before joining MJFF, I was working for the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF) at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, where I was part of a team promoting open science, data sharing, and FAIR data practices, as well as standards and best practices around brain metadata. I’m excited to bring that experience here with all of you and figure out a way together to reduce the redundancy and barriers associated with accessing/using Parkinson’s research data resources.
Currently I am based in Houston, Texas, but spent the last decade or so in Europe for my graduate studies, obtaining a Masters in Cognitive Neuroscience from the Center for Mind/Brain Science in Rovereto, Italy, and then my PhD in Neuroscience from the Friedrich Alexander Ebert University in Nuremberg, Germany. Other than neuroscience, my passions are making music, spending time in nature, and listening to copious amounts of standup comedy.
