Hi all! I’m Laura from MJFF. It was great to start getting to know you all at the September DCI call last Friday.
I started at MJFF last week (9/5) as the new Community Manager for this Data Community of Practice. I’ve been meeting with CSCCE and the MJFF team over the past week to get up to speed on this group so that I can best support community collaboration and resource creation/reuse moving forward.
Prior to MJFF I worked as a Community Manager for DocMatter where I helped medical and research societies to build online communities for members to discuss patient cases, updates in the field, the big questions in basic and translational research, and the pain points of their work.
On a personal note, I grew up in Vermont, received undergraduate degrees in Health and Human Biology and Latin American and Caribbean Studies at Brown University in Rhode Island, and I now live in San Francisco, California. In my free time I love walking/running/hiking/lounging in parks.
