Hi everyone,
My name is Mike Alosco. I am a clinical neuropsychologist and Associate Professor of Neurology at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Here, I am the Director of the BU Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center Clinical Core. I also serve as the Director of Neuropsychology at the Memory and Aging Clinic at Boston Medical Center.
My research program has a focus on: (1) the development of in vivo biomarkers for CTE, AD, and AD related dementias (ADRD); (2) the relationship between repetitive head impacts with cognitive and neuropsychiatric decline, and neurodegenerative disease(s); and (3) the contribution of cerebrovascular disease to the clinical and neuropathological expression of CTE and AD/ADRD. I hope that our work will ultimately lead to the development of strategies to treat and prevent CTE and Alzheimer’s disease.
I am very excited to join the community here. I am originally from Connecticut, but spend much of time growing up in Rhode Island. I currently live in MA. I have three kids all under the age of 8! But, I love to spend time with them and my wife, particularly with sports.
