PD Research Landscape Heat map: SoS Call!

A small subgroup (@paularp and @ekaamewu ) of the Visual Resource Generation Taskforce has been working on developing a heat map of PD research landscape. This is going to be a living dashboard of PD research outputs all over the world. Based on the feedback from the Data Community Champions, we agree that this is a very ambitious project. The initial themes of focus are pathogenesis, biomarkers, therapeutics, symptom burden, care models. We plan to work on them exclusively as chunks of the bigger picture. We expect this to provide a concrete overview of what is happening and evidence to support new research areas and ideas.

Open letter for mentorship and collaboration

We are calling for members experienced in conducting systematic reviews to provide mentorship. This could be in the form of a training course, ongoing guidance and support, etc. Considering the amount of data to be handled, we are also calling for collaborators to assist with data extraction. If there are students who would love to volunteer in this regard, you’re warmly welcome!

could this be an AI effort? i’m happy to help with any systematic review adventures, but wondering if this is an AI effort to plug all the PD papers in certain platforms and ask it to give us the common themes instead of us predetermining themes?

We have discussed using LLMs for this endeavor in the past. However, the protocol has predetermined themes and eligibility criteria that will require some level of human intervention.
