Data Community Newsletter: 2024 Year in Review
As 2024 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on our Data Community of Practice. This year has been marked by growth, collaboration, and innovation made possible by the active engagement and dedication of our members. Whether through sharing insights, contributing to discussions, or driving forward new initiatives, your participation is what drives our community’s success. Thank you for your commitment to advancing our shared goals and for fostering a vibrant, supportive community!
In the last 12 months…
- Our community grew from 23 to 156 members!
- More than 140 discussion threads were started, generating over 600 replies.
- We launched 4 new task forces to engage the broader community in projects that meet our shared goal of making it easier to work with PD data:
- Data Modalities and Methodologies (led by @hirotaka and @ehutchins , and joined by @AmgadDroby , @vcatterson , @jf.daneault , @peixott , @mattk , @danieltds , @cameronreidhamilton , @elahif01 , and @jonahkeller )
- Visual Resource Generation (led by @vdardov and joined by @ekaamewu , @paularp , @psaffie , and @vcatterson )
- Mentorship and Training (led by @psaffie and @fbbriggs and joined by @danieltds , @peixott , @paularp , @Vidash , and @malosco)
- Networking and Outreach (led by @Vidash and @gdp22 , and joined by @hirotaka , @ekaamewu, @malosco , @AmgadDroby , and @paularp)
Thank you again for contributing to our efforts to design and build a space that serves the needs of the Parkinson’s research community! We are excited to continue working together in 2025 to expand the community’s reach and support those who are working to find a cure to Parkinson’s.
