Hi, everyone!
My name is Paula Reyes and I’m a PhD student at the International Lab of the Human Genome at UNAM, the largest university of México. I’m a funded student by GP2 initiative and along with @psaffie, we are Trainee representatives for the LATAM region.
My doctoral work focuses on the genetic factors of Anxiety and Depression in PD, so if you’re interested in any of these topics please feel free to contact me.
I am also a Research Assistant at the Mexican Network for Parkinson’s Research, and we actively work with the LARGE-PD consortium to better understand Parkinson’s in Latin America!
I hold Biotech bachelor/masters, and I’m in charge of our little wetlab! However, I am moving towards a more bioinformatics profile and I’m slow but steady! I’m interested in PRS, genetic association analysis of all shapes, and my ultimate goal is to make everything ancestry-aware, as we Mexicans are an admixed population!
I also love teaching and Public Communication of Science and I believe the only way to make science currently is in community.
