Hello all, I'm Artur Schuh from Brazil

I’m excited to introduce myself to this vibrant data practice online community. My name is Artur Schuh, and I serve as a Movement Disorders Neurologist in South Brazil, specifically at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul and Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre. My academic and research interests are primarily concentrated on the epidemiology and genetics of Parkinson’s disease, areas that have not only piqued my professional curiosity but also fueled my passion for making meaningful contributions to our understanding of this condition. Our center proudly stood among the pioneers in recruiting participants for the LARGE-PD project, and our ongoing involvement as an active consortium member speaks about our commitment to deciphering PD genetic architecture in Latinos. Furthermore, I have the privilege of leading a Fox-funded study that aims to unravel the prevalence and risk factors associated with overt Parkinson’s disease and prodromal cases across different Brazilian locations. My research interests also extend to monogenic forms of the disease and atypical and prodromal cases. I’m thrilled about the prospect of sharing our findings and insights with you all and absorbing the wealth of knowledge this forum harbors. Beyond professional work, I like reading literature, a passion I indulge in during my leisure time. My personal time also revolves around the serenity of meditation, the balance of yoga, and the tranquility of swimming, allowing me to lead a balanced life.
I look forward to a fruitful exchange of ideas, discoveries, and experiences with you here.
