Task Force Updates
All four of the new MJFF task forces had their kickoff calls in September and are officially underway! Here’s the latest from each of them:
- The Visual Resource Generation Task Force is building a list of existing visual resources that could be useful for the community, as well planning the creation and release of original resources (e.g., webinars). Which visual resources would you be interested in seeing?
- The Networking and Outreach (NOW), aiming to expand the MJFF community of practice over the next year by identifying and recruiting new members from diverse professional backgrounds and geographic regions, held their first networking event at MDS in late September in Philadelphia. Were you also at MDS but didn’t get a chance to see us? Say hello now on Discourse!
- The Mentorship and Training Task Force is compiling a list of existing training resources that reflect diverse learning styles and are language/programming agnostic, as well as documenting best practices for mentees/mentors for pair and team settings. Which resources have helped you progress in your research career?
- The Data Modalities and Methodologies Task Force members began curating a project list for the coming months, aiming to produce helpful, tangible resources for Parkinson’s researchers. Do you have any PD data methods or analysis questions which could benefit from a

MJFF and the NOW group hosted a networking event at MDS in Philadelphia (above), bringing existing and new data community members together.

Society for Neuroscience (Chicago, USA)
- MJFF will be hosting a booth and @jgottesman, @bradford, and other MJFF staff will be there. Drop by to say hello if you’ll be there or feel free to refer colleagues who you think would be joining the community our way!

We will host our first Ask Me Anything (AMA) in October with with Dr. Michael Alosco (@malosco ), Associate Professor of Neurology at Boston University. Stay tuned for further details!
Resources and Ongoing Conversations
