Video rounds or DCOP platform, for sharing or asking help on cases

Hi there!

I’ve got an idea that could be helpful. You know how we often have questions about patients, especially in rare diseases? Like, how to treat certain cases or what to do when genetic test results don’t match up.

Do you think it would be interesting to have a virtual space, were we could share this questions, or also the answers we have had, in a confidential scenario? What if we had a place where we could chat about these real-life difficult cases? Like video rounds, or online clinical-genetic feedback. It could also evolve into training material or even collaborative publication?
I think it would be also necesary, A quick guide for interpretation of genetic results for non geneticist?

This could be super useful

Let me know your thoughts!

Ps: I added this after giving it more thoughts, and it could be like a Genotype to Phenotype or Phenotype to Genotype solving problem space, where it bridges the gap between neurology, geneticists and scientists in real life, despite distance. Like a common space for solving common problems, we’re different experts add value from their side. And thinking it more, it is not necessary to be synchronic, nor a virtual meeting like video rounds, that could be more difficult.

MDS had this ACMD project where you could send a video or information about a difficult case you were dealing with on WhatsApp to a coordinator who then forwarded to the Expert on duty that month to help you unravel it.
These experts were consulting doctors who provided insight in 48 hours or faster if it were urgent.

I used it quite a couple of times and it was really helpful

We could tailor that concept here.

@psaffie: That is a great idea!
