Hello everyone!
I’m Roopa from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. I am a movement disorder specialist neurologist and currently Associate Professor (Neurology) at AIIMS. My expertise is basically in the clinical aspects of movement disorders- phenotyping and management including DBS and Botulinum Toxin. My research focusses on the genetics and electrophysiology of PD, dystonia and tremor. I have experience with multicentric genetic studies as PI of the Indian Movement Disorder Registry (focused on dystonia) and as a nodal center for the MJFF funded GWAS for PD in Indian population (as part of the Lux-GIANT consortium). I also have some experience with NGS data analysis for rare mendelian disorders, meta-analyses and clinical trials.
I am happy to here and to have met you all virtually at the kickoff meeting. I look forward to learning more about the community and projects in the coming days!

@Vidash That’s great! Look forward to sharing experiences on this. Apart from the funding and technical challenges, outreach beyond the major cities and tertiary institutions is something I have been giving a lot of thought to. Would love to know how you addressed this.
