Hello, I’m Victor, a recent graduate in Genomic Sciences from the UNAM in Mexico. I joined the MexPD team as a research assistant in 2021. My focus has revolved around a GP2 trainee project, delving into the transferability potential of Parkinson’s Disease PRSs from European populations to Latin American participants.
I am excited to continue my journey commencing my PhD next year as part of the APGS and MonoAusPD groups at Brisbane Australia.
Hi, Victor! It was great to meet you along with @pmastrob and @gdp22 this morning.
As you get started on your PhD next year, please be encouraged to ask any questions about new datasets you’re encountering here in the community.
Given your background, this Topic from Hirotaka might be of interest: AMP-PD codes to get genetic overviews (Ancestry, population PCs and PRS)
Thanks for joining!

Hi, Vic! Excited to have you here!
It was great having you in the lab these past years, and I’m happy that we can keep connecting through this platform (and others) as you embark in your next academic adventure!
Could you tell us more about what MonoAusPD is and what will be your role there?
Hi Victor, it was great e-meeting you! I think you will find the DCoP is a great forum for researchers at all stages of their career. You may be interested in the AMP-PD Terra Resources posted by Victoria Dardov. Glad to see you here!
