Happy Friday All!
We want to introduce Task Forces, which will provide a structured process for members of the DCoP to create resources and other content to share with the research community. The members of a Task Force will work on a specific project, such as metadata collection standards, analysis of existing data sets, or a collaborative DBS research project.
Our first Task Force will be co-led by @Ehutchins and @Malosco and will focus on creating a Data Wrangling Guide. More on that to come next week at our October call (2 pm UTC, 20 October).
Task Forces can be structured around any resource gap or need identified by the DCoP. To get started, interested community members will post to Discourse and ask members to comment if they’d like to join the Task Force. The Community Management team will then create a private Discourse group where planning and drafting can take place. Task Force activities may differ from project to project, but you can expect a kick-off meeting and asynchronous researching, drafting, and editing work.
More information about Task Forces is outlined in these draft guidelines. We plan to refine the Task Force process on an ongoing basis with your feedback and participation.
Looking forward to getting more of these under way! Please let us know if you have any questions and comment below with other topics you’d be interested in creating more durable resources for!
