I wanted to provide an additional update on our task force. I think the regular updates to the community are important to allow for feedback along the way in addition to providing a roadmap. We held our third meeting with the task force last week which includes @ehutchins @danieltds @lmackenzie @paularp @psaffie @hirotaka @vdardov @ykfarhan @jgottesman.
As of this meeting, we had all been assigned to one of the following data sets: AMP PD, PPMI, GP2, and Fox Insight. We drafted a description of each data set using a common template with the following sections: Description, Data Features, Data set access, Intended use of data set, strengths and limitations of data set, tips and considerations, FAQs, updates, and codes. After data sets were drafted, task force members provided feedback on others product. At last weeks meeting, we reviewed the draft sections as a group. There was some variability in the amount of detail that was included in each section and therefore we selected a section that we thought was ideal and task force members will now do one more revision to harmonize.
The goal is to have a final evolving document with information about each of these data sets in one centralized location. This document is coming together nicely with the description of data sets but we still need to develop front matter (e.g., authors, title page, table of contents etc). @danieltds @psaffie @paularp are also working on adding a visualization/figure to the project.
Our next meeting is 3/15. Our goal is to present the document/resource to the community in April, allow for a period of time for feedback and revisions, and then go live (still not sure what “live” means yet but it sounded good as I was writing).
If you have ideas that should integrate at this stage, please share!
